Worthing Museum presents the Autumn Lecture Series.

Our hugely popular lecture series returns on Thursday evenings this October to December.

An intimate season of talks with our Archaeology Curator James Sainsbury and guest speakers. Explore a wide range of subjects from Sussex in the Stone and Bronze ages, Worthing at War 1939-1945 and Highdown & Saxon Sussex. This year due to high demand we have the return of A Victorian Naval Odyssey: John Palmer and his unique log book revealed, as well as The Story of Cissbury Ring. Plus brand new talks on topics such as Roman Worthing & Surrounds and Harry Peulevé: Worthing’s War-time Spy.

Sussex in the Bronze Age

The arrival of bronze with newcomers from the continent fundamentally changed the face of Sussex forever. New technologies and new culture left its mark on the landscape, some of which is still visible today, thousands of years after these monuments were constructed. This lecture will focus on sites close to Worthing, along with some fascinating metal hoards found locally.

Ticket price includes a glass of wine or tea/coffee.
