Our hugely popular lecture series returns on Thursday evenings this October to December.
An intimate season of talks with our Archaeology Curator James Sainsbury and guest speakers. Explore a wide range of subjects from Sussex in the Stone and Bronze ages, Worthing at War 1939-1945 and Highdown & Saxon Sussex. This year due to high demand we have the return of A Victorian Naval Odyssey: John Palmer and his unique log book revealed, as well as The Story of Cissbury Ring. Plus brand new talks on topics such as Roman Worthing & Surrounds and Harry Peulevé: Worthing’s War-time Spy.
Sussex in the Stone Ages
Join us for a journey through 500,000 years of hominids in Sussex. From Homo Heidelbergensis at Boxgrove to hunter-gatherers on Worthing’s shore and beyond, this lecture covers the development of the earliest groups to make Sussex their home.
