An exhibition looking at the relationship between Worthing and the surrounding landscape and seascape over the last two centuries, using a range of our diverse collections. Worthing grew from an insignificant fishing hamlet to a premier seaside resort during the 19th century and continues to grow to this day. With the majestic Downs to the north and the unpredictable sea to the south this exhibition will showcase pieces from the Fine Art, Costume and Social History collections, with some objects on display for the first time in many years. A special collections-based show that tells the story of why the town is historically known as sitting ‘twixt sea and Downs.
There will be curator talks programmed to accompany this exhibition. Look out for updates and booking details.
Please Note This exhibition is free but donations are gladly welcomed. No need to book, just turn up.
