Museum and Art Gallery
William Hargood was a British naval officer during a tumultuous time in Britain’s history. He served in three major wars and would ultimately meet his destiny at Trafalgar in command of HMS Belleisle. This special exhibition will display items owned by William Hargood and chart his career fighting across the seas in one of the first truly global conflicts. Much of this exhibition will be inspired by his recently rediscovered Orders book which dates from 1794 to 1801 and gives a unique insight in to the man and his superiors in the Royal Navy.
Please Note This exhibition is free but donations are gladly welcomed. No need to book, just turn up.
