Develop your creative voice by writing about your personal pride.

Learn to improve your storytelling skills as part of a supportive group environment with international touring artist and tutor, Charmaine Childs.

This is an opportunity to tell your story with an emphasis on uplifting LGBTQIA+ voices. The day will be split into two sections with the first focusing on writing a piece about your personal sense of pride. This can be about an actual event, a memory, or simply what makes you feel powerful! The second will look at micro-storytelling and how to best express yourself through a minimal amount of words.

Charmaine Childs is a circus Strong Lady who produces joyful shows about strength and connection. She tours international arts festivals and develops bespoke storytelling and writing workshops. With her creative support, and by sharing ideas within a safe space, you’ll be encouraged to explore your identity and celebrate it through storytelling.

Pieces of work from these sessions will be displayed as digital installations at WTM Venues over Worthing Pride 2022. WTM is thrilled to share local queer stories and is committed to supporting LGBTQIA+ artists.

The event will run as two 2.5 hour sessions in the morning and afternoon, with a break for lunch (please bring your own lunch). Please also bring your own laptop and/or writing materials.
