A weekend of practical printmaking for beginners or those with a range of printmaking skills, featuring a curator led discussion with prints from the fine art collection, illustrating different forms of printmaking techniques.
This is a two day weekend workshop will offer you the chance to explore some of the museum’s fine art printmaking collection, and learn a bit about the different printmaking techniques. You’ll have the opportunity to look closely at a range of prints, selected by Emma including works by Frank Short, Chris Orr, William Nicholson and Graham Sutherland.
Local printmaker Peon will explain and demonstrate the process of drypoint engraving and guide you through technique so that you can produce your own drypoint plate and finished prints using an etching, roller press.
All materials and tea and coffee are provided, but you will need to bring your own lunch.
