Tutor Stephanie Smart teaches an advanced quilling class for all those who have learnt the basic technique and would like to see what else is possible. If you’d like to try moving from two-dimensional designs to three-dimensional shapes using this historic rolled paper craft – orignally known as paper filigree – come back and learn how.
In this class you will: get to construct individual three-dimensional shapes such as a cone and a rolled paper bead; see how to transform flat designs into shapes such as boxes and bowls; combine the original coiled form with decorative shapes formed in other ways to increase the range of design possibilities.
We will look in more detail at the historical practice of decorating the surfaces of tea caddies and cabinets and you will begin your own design to take home with you.
Please note all tools and materials supplied. Previous attendance of Stephanie’s beginners class or some previous experience of two-dimensional quilling is preferred. This class is also open to beginners with ambition!
