Create your own useful and decorative pocket with experts Zenzie Tinker Conservation

Join us for this modern pocket making workshop led by textile conservation experts Zenzie Tinker Conservation, where you will make up your own useful and decorative pocket, adapted for contemporary use. You'll learn everything you need to sew a modern, updated version of a historic woman's pocket successfully, plus tips to help you choose your design and techniques. Join us after lunch for a tour of the Costume archive and get up close to examples of historic pockets from the collection.

The class will guide you step by step through the stages of sewing a modern pocket with a side slit opening and belt loop. The first part of the class will take you through the initial stages - from cutting out to pinning together - then we'll take you through the final stages using ready-made pieces as illustrations.
