One night in his near-empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam has a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbor Harry, which punctures the rhythm of his everyday life. As a relationship develops between them, Adam is preoccupied with memories of the past and finds himself drawn back to his childhood home, where his parents appear to be living, just as they were on the day they died, 30 years before.
Our thoughts
We were lucky enough to see this at festivals last year and can't recommend it enough. Definitely a film for those who loved Aftersun. It's a delicate story that has a huge emotional impact and a soundtrack that we are still singing months later. It's sure to be featured in our top ten of the year lists.
★★★★★ An enormously satisfying and affecting experience. The Guardian
★★★★★ A flawless film that reaches for the stars, and gets there. Empire
★★★★★ A miraculously uncheesy study of loneliness, forgiveness and, above all, the power of love Time Out
BBFC Insight: strong sexual detail, sex, drug misuse, very strong language
