Access

If you have any questions, or would like to discuss your access requirements before your visit, please contact the Box Office via email or phone, or visit us at the Connaught Theatre.

Wheelchair User Access

All of our venues are accessible, and the auditoria have designated wheelchair user spaces. For further information, or to book a wheelchair space, please call the Box Office.

For wheelchair users needing to access the Connaught Studio via the elevator in the Theatre, please note that the width measurement for the elevator doors is 32 inches, and includes a very tight turn.

Assistance Dogs

WTM welcomes registered assistance dogs in all venues. Please contact our box office when booking your tickets if you are intending on bringing an assistance dog with you on your visit. Customers are required to sit in reserved areas within the auditoria to safely accommodate their assistance dog.

Subtitled and Captioned Perfomances

We screen subtitled films at least  every Monday evening in the Connaught Cinema and additional subtitled screenings during the school holidays.

Please see our upcoming listings for these and other captioned or subtitled performances.

Audio Description

Most newly released feature films in the Connaught Cinema include Audio Description. There are some film screenings in the schedule that we are unable to provide Audio Description for. If you require this service for a specific film, please check with the Box Office.

BSL Signed Performance

British Sign Language interpreted performances for our d/Deaf and hard of hearing customers are available. Please contact the box office team for more information.

If you have a question, or would like to discuss your access requirements before your visit, please contact the Box Office.

Hearing Assistance

Listening Assistance is available in all our venues for the majority of events. We have two different types of equipment available.

  1. Over ear headphones*: using an infrared system to amplify sound – these headphones can also be used for audio description if available.
  2. Induction loop*: transmits audio signals straight to your hearing aids when hearing aids are set to the T-position.

To use our listening assistance service, contact a member of the front of house team on arrival who can provide the headphones free of charge and demonstrate how to use the service.

*We recommend booking a seat located centrally for these devices to receive the clearest signal. Please note that these devices do not work in the boxes at the Connaught Theatre.

Autism Friendly Screenings

Screenings on the first Sunday of the month are adapted for our customers on the autistic spectrum or with sensory sensitivity. The film will be screened without adverts in a cinema with low level lighting and reduced sound levels, and there is a relaxed approach to audience noise and movement during these screenings.

Dementia Friendly and Relaxed

The first matinee or morning film screening of the day on Tuesdays in the Connaught Cinema will be adapted for our customers that are living with Dementia. These screenings will include reduced sound levels, low level lighting, and there will not be any adverts before the feature starts. Our staff are Dementia Friends and have attended an awareness information session.
