Learn more Batik and create your own fabric design to take home.

In this workshop, WTM Art Curator Emma will provide an introduction to the art of Batik using hot wax to draw onto fabric and dyes to paint.

Come along with a design in mind with simple outlines - you can bring a drawing or piece of decorative fabric.

If you have any old newspapers please bring these along too.

Batik is an Indonesian technique where hot wax is added to fabric before it is painted with dye. The wax covered areas resit the dye creating beautiful and intricate patterns on the fabric.
