About Cocoon

She’s got news - news she wasn’t expecting.

Ever felt in desperate need of a haircut or a life reset? Wished your troubles away at the backwash unit? Lie back in the salon, where you can relax amidst the smells of hot hair…

A vibrant expression of Black salon culture and Disability culture, Cocoon interweaves stories of community, self-care and healthcare – told through daring aerial theatre, show-stopping dance breaks and a soundtrack of noughties bangers.

Celebrating resilience and unapologetic joy, Cocoon unites a new ensemble cast led by Farrell Cox, a playful theatre maker who uses her own experiences to tell stories, creating spaces where audiences feel free to laugh, scream, chant or cry.

After the performance, a Q&A will take place with the cast of Cocoon, so be sure to stay after to learn more about the performers and backstory of the show.
