1. Definitions

In these terms and conditions (Terms), the following words shall have the meanings set out below:

  • Membership means a Worthing Theatres and Museum membership, including Priority Membership and Patrons’ Circle Membership (as applicable) and Member means the holder of such a Membership.

  • Ticket means any ticket for attending an event (including, but not limited to, staged theatrical performances, talks, concerts, recordings, film screenings, Museum workshops or other ticketed events) offered for sale by us or our authorised agents, and any reference to a performance shall include any of these.

  • Worthing Theatres and Museum means Connaught Theatre, Studio and Fraser’s Bar, Union Place BN11 1LG;  Assembly Hall, Stoke Abbott Road BN11 1HQ; Pavillion Theatre and Pavilion Atrium, Marine Parade, BN11 3PX and Worthing Museum and Art Gallery, Chapel Road BN11 1HP

  • we means Worthing Theatres and Museum, registered in England and Wales with Charity Number 1185189 whose registered office is The Connaught Theatre, Union Place, Worthing, West Sussex BN11 1LG; and us and our shall be construed accordingly; and

  • you means you or anybody who in our reasonable opinion is acting with your authority or permission; and your shall be read accordingly.

2. WTM (Worthing Theatres and Museum) Memberships

WTM offer two levels of Membership:

  • Priority Membership

  • Patrons’ Circle Membership

The standard benefits of each membership are listed on wtm.uk  The benefits listed are correct at the time of publication on the website. Worthing Theatres and Museum reserve the right to amend these benefits at any time, without advance notice. Refer to the website or please contact the Box Office on 01903 206 206 or via email at boxoffice@wtm.uk for the most up to date list of benefits available to WTM members.

The Terms and Conditions relating to each level of membership are stated below under the relevant heading(s).

3. Priority Membership

  • Terms of Priority Booking

WTM Priority members can take advantage of priority booking periods ahead of the general on sale date for selected shows and events. Priority booking is not available on all events. Details of eligible shows will be included in emails, however you can always check which events are included in Priority booking by contacting the Box Office on 01903 206 206 or via email at boxoffice@wtm.uk

Priority booking is only available to the Priority membership holder and the tickets must be booked under the member’s personal account. Ticket availability is not guaranteed for members booking during the priority booking period as tickets are sold on a first come first served basis.

The number of tickets that you will be able to book on each show will differ. Please contact the Box Office on 01903 206 206 or via email at boxoffice@wtm.uk for details.

Members are able to make use of the WTM membership discount within the priority booking window if the WTM membership discount is applicable.

(b)        Terms of live events & show, film, talks and workshops discount

WTM Priority members can book a maximum of 4 tickets per event using the 10% WTM membership discount. Tickets can be booked online by logging in to an account associated with a Priority Membership. The discount will apply automatically to eligible full price/adult tickets for events included in this offer. Priority members can also take advantage of this WTM membership discount if booking via phone or in person at the Box Office. This WTM membership discount can only be used by the membership holder and the tickets must be booked under the member’s personal account. WTM membership discount is subject to availability and cannot be applied retrospectively. The discount does not apply to all events on sale via Worthing Theatres and Museum Box Office. (c)        Terms of discount at Worthing Theatres Bars and Food Kiosks and Museum Shop

Priority members are entitled to a 10% discount at all Worthing Theatres Bars and Food Kiosks and the Worthing Museum shop. In order to redeem this WTM membership discount, members must present their Priority Membership card at the point of purchase and the cardholder must be present. This WTM membership discount is subject to availability and cannot be applied retrospectively or to already discounted items.

4. Patrons’ Circle Membership

  • Terms of Priority Booking

(b)        Terms of WTM Patrons’ Circle Membership live events & show, film, talks and workshops discount 

WTM Patrons circle members can book a maximum of 4 tickets per event using the WTM 10% membership discount. Tickets can be booked online by logging in to an account associated with a WTM Patrons’ Circle membership. The discount will apply automatically to eligible full price tickets for events included in this offer. Patrons’ Circle members can also take advantage of this discount if booking via phone or in person at the Box Office. The discount can only be used by the membership holder and the tickets must be booked under the member’s personal account. The discount is subject to availability and cannot be applied retrospectively. The discount does not apply to all events on sale via Worthing Theatres and Museum Box Office. (c)        Terms of discount at Worthing Theatres Bars and Food Kiosks and Museum Shop

WTM Patrons’ Circle members are entitled to a 10% discount at all Worthing Theatres Bars and Food Kiosks and Worthing Museum shop. In order to redeem this WTM membership discount, members must present their membership card at the point of purchase and the cardholder must be present. This WTM membership discount is subject to availability and cannot be applied retrospectively or to already discounted items.

(d)         Additional Terms Associated with a Patrons’ Circle Membership

WTM Patrons’ Circle members will receive invitations to Patrons events, including exclusive opening receptions of gallery private views and press nights. Patrons Circle members will also be able to access a bespoke Patron session with a WTM expert of your choice in the field of theatre, film, fashion, art or archaeology

These events will be decided by Worthing Theatres and Museum, are non-negotiable and may have limited availability.

Worthing Theatres and Museum reserves the right to make changes to any of these events at any time.

(e)Patrons’ Circle donation to WTM

A Patrons’ Circle membership is made up of a suggested donation amount (which is given voluntarily, and Gift Aid provisions apply) and a benefit value, which is the minimum amount to secure each membership:

For £200 membership: benefit value and minimum payment £50, donation £150; £500 membership: benefit value and minimum payment £50, donation £450; £1,000 membership: benefit value and minimum payment £65, donation £935.

The Gift Aid scheme provides the simplest way possible for UK taxpayers to help WTM at no extra cost and with no future commitment. By completing a single declaration form, all of your donations can qualify for tax relief with no effort on your part. For every £1 you donate, we get an extra 25p from the HM Revenue & Customs.

5. WTM Communications

As part of the WTM membership, all members will receive communications by email, post and phone. Worthing Theatres and Museum will take the purchase of any membership as tacit agreement by the membership holder to be contacted by email, post and phone, in line with the benefits of the WTM membership. This will not change the contact preferences saved on the account in relation to marketing communications from Worthing Theatres and Museum which will remain in place for all other purposes other than WTM membership benefits communications. If a member wishes to remove their permission to be contacted via email, post and phone in line with their membership benefits, then please contact the Box Office on 01903 206 206 or via email at boxoffice@wtm.uk

Additionally, Worthing Theatres and Museum may need to contact the account holder about their account, including or excluding their WTM membership, in which case the terms described in the WTM privacy policy will be applicable.

6. Use of WTM Membership Benefits

Memberships are assigned to one account held in the name of one person and must not be shared with other individuals or businesses. Membership benefits will only be issued to the membership holder and Worthing Theatres and Museum will not provide any of the membership benefits to anyone other than the person named on the account with the membership.  

7. Membership Fees

In order to start a WTM membership, a fee must be paid upon commencement of the membership. The fee due to add a WTM membership to your account is detailed on the website: wtm.uk. The membership fee covers 365 days of membership only.

8. Membership Renewal

WTM members will have the option to opt-in to auto-renew their membership at the point of purchase, provided the member’s account has a valid email address and a payment card has been added to their wallet on their online account. Card details are not stored directly with WTM and are instead tokenised in our ticketing system and the card details are stored securely via our payment processor who are level 1 PCI compliant in line with our privacy policy which can be found on our website. 

At the time of auto-renewal, our system will only try to renew with the card that has been specifically selected for membership auto-renewal.

We will automatically notify members when their membership is due for renewal. If a customer has opted in to auto-renewal of their membership, they will be notified when this is due to take place and again once renewal is successful. If auto-renewal of a membership is attempted, and the payment fails, the customer will be notified via email and their membership will not be renewed automatically.

Members can choose to opt-out of auto-renewal by unticking the auto-renew box when purchasing a membership online, or by notifying a member of the WTM Box Office team when purchasing a membership via phone or in person at the Box Office.

Members can opt in or out of auto renew at any time during their membership by contacting the Box Office via email or phone at least 1 week before the membership is due to expire.

9. Cancellations and Refunds

All memberships are non-transferable and cannot be refunded after the 14-day cooling-off period. Memberships can be refunded within the cooling-off period (14 days after purchase), provided that the member has not used any of the benefits of the membership and submitted their request to us in writing within the 14-day window.

Gift Memberships cannot be refunded after the 14-day cooling-off period. The 14 day cooling off period begins the day the gift membership voucher is purchased by the purchaser. Refunds will only be made to the purchaser of the Gift Membership Voucher.

If a member has opted in to auto-renew their membership, but no longer wishes to be a member, they will need to notify the box office via phone at least 1 week before the expiry date of their membership. The membership will then end on the expiry date.

If a member is not opted in to auto-renew, then the membership will automatically end on the expiry date of the current membership period.

10. Lost Membership cards

It is the responsibility of the membership holder to notify Worthing Theatres and Museum as soon as is reasonably possible upon discovering that their membership card is missing. To report a membership card as missing, please contact Worthing Theatres and Museum via email: boxoffice@wtm.uk or phone: 01903 206 206.

The Box Office will re-issue lost membership cards subject to a charge. The membership holder may be required to present ID at the box office when requesting the reissue of their membership card.

11. Further Conditions

All membership benefits, discounts and special events are subject to availability and Worthing Theatres and Museum reserves the right to make alterations to the membership benefits, or schedule of events if required.

We reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions of the WTM membership at any time.

 

Website Terms of Use

This agreement applies between you, the user of www.wtm.uk and Worthing Theatres & Museum, the owner of these websites. Your agreement to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions is deemed to occur upon your first use of either site. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, you should stop using either website immediately

1. Definitions And Interpretation

In this Agreement, the following terms shall have the following meanings:

Content – means any text, graphics, images, audio, video, software, data compilations and any other form of information capable of being stored in a computer that appears on or forms part of either of our websites.

Organisation – means Worthing Theatres & Museum (WTM) which includes Connaught Theatre, Connaught Studio and Cinema, Pavilion Theatre and Assembly Hall and Worthing Museum.

Service – means collectively any online facilities, tools, services or information that the Organisation makes available through the websites either now or in the future.

System – means any online communications infrastructure that the Organisation makes available through the websites either now or in the future. This includes, but is not limited to, web-based email, message boards, live chat facilities and email links.

User / Users – means any third party that accesses the Websites and is not employed by the Organisation and acting in the course of their employment.

Websites – means the websites that you are using (www.wtm.uk) and any sub-domains of this sites unless expressly excluded by the terms and conditions.

2. Intellectual Property

Subject to the exceptions in Clause 3 of these Terms and Conditions, all Content included on the Websites, unless uploaded by Users, including, but not limited to, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, sound clips, video clips, data compilations, page layout, underlying code and software is the property of the Organisation, our affiliates or other relevant third parties. By continuing to use the websites you acknowledge that such material is protected by applicable United Kingdom and International intellectual property and other laws.

You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, store or in any other fashion re-use material from the Web Site unless otherwise indicated on the Web Site or unless given express written permission to do so by the Organisation.

3. Third Party Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise expressly indicated, all Intellectual Property rights including, but not limited to, Copyright and Trademarks, in product images and descriptions belong to the manufacturers or distributors of such products as may be applicable.

You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, store or in any other fashion re-use such material unless otherwise indicated on the Websites or unless given express written permission to do so by the relevant manufacturer or supplier.

4. Links To Other Websites

Our Websites may contain links to other sites. Unless expressly stated, these sites are not under the control of the Organisation or that of our affiliates. We assume no responsibility for the content of such web sites and disclaim liability for any and all forms of loss or damage arising out of the use of them. The inclusion of a link to another site on the Websites does not imply any endorsement of the sites themselves or of those in control of them.

5. Links To Our Websites

You may place a link to our Web Pages on other Web Sites, however agree to remove link(s) at our request to our discretion. To find out more please contact us by email at marketing@wtm.uk 

6. Privacy

Use of the Websites is also governed by our Privacy Policy which is incorporated into these terms and conditions by this reference. To view the Privacy Policy, please click on the link above.

7. Disclaimers

7.1 The Organisation makes no warranty or representation that the Websites will meet your requirements, that it will be of satisfactory quality, that it will be fit for a particular purpose, that it will not infringe the rights of third parties, that it will be compatible with all systems, that it will be secure and that all information provided will be accurate. We make no guarantee of any specific results from the use of our Services.

7.2 No part of the Websites are intended to constitute advice and the Content of the Websites should not be relied upon when making any decisions or taking any action of any kind.

7.3 Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that all graphical representations of products and / or descriptions of services available from the Organisation correspond to the actual products and / or services, the Organisation is not responsible for any variations from these descriptions.

8. Availability Of The Web Site

8.1 The Service is provided “as is” and on an “as available” basis. We give no warranty that the Service will be free of defects and / or faults. To the maximum extent permitted by the law we provide no warranties (express or implied) of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of information, compatibility and satisfactory quality.

8.2 Worthing Theatres accepts no liability for any disruption or non-availability of the Web Site resulting from external causes including, but not limited to, ISP equipment failure, host equipment failure, communications network failure, power failure, natural events, acts of war or legal restrictions and censorship.

9. Limitation Of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Organisation accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage, foreseeable or otherwise, including any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from the use of the Websites or any information contained therein. Users should be aware that they use the Websites and its Content at their own risk.

10. No Waiver

In the event that any party to these Terms and Conditions fails to exercise any right or remedy contained herein, this shall not be construed as a waiver of that right or remedy.

11. Previous Terms And Conditions

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and any prior versions thereof, the provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall prevail unless it is expressly stated otherwise.

12. Notices

All notices / communications shall be given to us either by post to our Premises by email to theatres@wtm.uk. Such notice will be deemed received 3 days after posting if sent by first class post, the day of sending if the email is received in full on a business day and on the next business day if the email is sent on a weekend or public holiday.

13. Law And Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions and the relationship between you and the Organisation shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Law of England and Wales and the Organisation and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.

Terms of Booking

Concessions (where available) apply to:

  • Children (2 years – 15 years inclusive for live events & 2 years – 14 years inclusive for film and screen arts)

  • Students (Any person in full time education)

  • Seniors (60 years and over)

  • Customers with a Disability

  • Income Support (Any person receiving Income Support)

Proof of Concession may be requested. If you are unable to prove your entitlement to a Concession, you may be required to pay the difference for a full price ticket.

Admission

We reserve the right to refuse admission. If admission is refused no refund will be available.

Children

A child’s ticket may only be used by a person aged between 2 and 15 years of age for live events, and 2 and 14 years of age for film and screen arts. We reserve the right to request photo identification confirming the age of the person intending to use the child’s ticket. If a person wishing to use a child’s ticket is unable to produce adequate identification, we are entitled to refuse admission until that person obtains an adult’s ticket. Babes in arms under two years, do not require a ticket.

Payment Methods

For online payments, we accept credit, Debit, or American Express cards. Please note there is an administration fee of £1.50 per transaction if you choose to have your tickets posted. E-tickets or collection from our venues is free.

Confirmation of your booking

Where you have provided WTM with your email address, you will receive an automated email confirmation at the point of booking either over the phone or via the website. If you have selected the e-ticket option, this will be delivered to you as a PDF attachment in a separate email.

Receiving your tickets

E-Tickets

If you select the e-ticket option, you will receive your ticket straight away as a PDF attachment in an email and you do not need to visit the Box Office. At the event, you may present your e-ticket to be scanned either from a mobile device or print it out.

Collection

If you are collecting your tickets, they will normally be available from the venue's Box Office, which opens an hour before the event and closes 15 minutes after the start time. When collecting your tickets, please bring a copy of your booking confirmation (if you can show this on a mobile device, you do not need to print this out).

Exchanges and Refunds

Tickets are non-refundable.

Tickets may be exchanged for credit to the customer’s account for a small administration fee.

In order for an exchange to be made, tickets must be received by the box office at least 24 hours prior to the performance, and Worthing Theatres & Museum cannot be held responsible for any loss or delay due to postal services

No exchanges can be made on the day of an event or after an event has happened.

If your event has been cancelled, we will process a refund directly to the payment method initially used. 

Liability

Our liability is limited in all circumstances to the ticket price per ticket paid by you.

Direct Marketing

Worthing Theatres & Museum will not use personal information collected through this website for direct marketing without your permission.

Conditions of Admission

  • A valid ticket must be shown to be admitted into the auditorium for any performance. This ticket entitles the bearer to the advertised performance, time and seat outlined on the ticket only.

  • Tickets may be required for re-entry into the auditorium and can be requested at any time.

  • Mobile phones must be switched off or turned onto silent and must not be used whilst there is a show or film on.

  • Photography/ filming is not permitted unless otherwise agreed by the performing artist. Use of cameras/mobile phones in this instance will be announced/encouraged by the performer.

  • Every effort will be made to admit latecomers. This will occur at a suitable moment, as decided by the visiting company or the duty manager. Latecomers may be required to sit in an alternative seat to avoid disturbing other patrons. Latecomers are not guaranteed entry.

  • The following items, including but not limited to, are not permitted inside any WTM venues – Hot food, alcohol purchased outside of the premises, glass bottles, or any item which may be interpreted as a potential weapon, including sharp or pointed objects, replica stunt weapons, and illegal substances.

  • Bag checks or security checks may be conducted during your visit. The duty manager reserves the right to confiscate or deny entry to anyone carrying an item that may cause danger or disruption, or any of the items listed above.

  • Anyone appearing intoxicated will be refused purchase of alcohol and may be asked to leave the premises.

  • WTM reserves the right to refuse admission to the premises and any WTM venue. The management of the Venue reserves the right to refuse admission to Ticket holders in reasonable circumstances, including for health and safety reasons, licensing reasons, or where a Ticket is void.

  • The management of the Venue also reserves the right to request that Ticket holders leave the Venue at any point on reasonable grounds and may take any appropriate action to enforce this right. By way of example, the Venue may remove a Ticket holder who:

      1. has behaved in the Venue in a manner which, in the reasonable opinion of the Venue, has, or is likely to affect the enjoyment of other visitors; or

      2. uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or in any way provokes or behaves in a manner which may provoke a breach of the peace; or

      3. in the reasonable opinion of the Venue is acting under the influence of alcohol or drugs; or

      4. fails, when required, to produce proof of identity or age. You must comply with instructions and directions given by Venue staff and stewards.

  • No refunds will be given to Ticket holders who are refused entry or ejected due to their own behaviour, as suggested in, but not limited to, the examples above.

  • Behaviour which is considered antisocial or disruptive will not be tolerated. WTM will take appropriate action to enforce this, and such behaviour may result in removal from the premises without any entitlement to a refund.

  • The obstruction of gangways, access-ways, exits, entrances or staircases, congregating in non-designated areas or seeking entry to stands or seats for which you do not hold a Ticket is strictly forbidden.

  • WTM accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft, damage or alteration to any personal items brought onto the premises by its customers.

  • All venues are non-smoking (including electronic cigarettes or any other artificial cigarettes or smoking devices). Please smoke only in the designated smoking areas located outside the building.

Tickets

  • All advertised prices are inclusive of ticket charges, including levy, but exclusive of any delivery fee.

  • All tickets are sold subject to availability and the terms and conditions of booking. These Terms and Conditions should be read carefully before purchase, and any queries relating to them should be raised with WTM before purchase, as the purchase of Tickets constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

  • To book tickets on our website, you will need to click a box to confirm your acceptance of these terms and conditions of sale. If you do not accept these terms, you will not be able to book tickets sold by WTM Box Office for an event at a WTM venue.

  • A valid Ticket must be produced to gain access to an Event. Removing any part of, altering, or defacing the Ticket may invalidate it.

  • Tickets will become void if sold on for profit or commercial gain.

Ticket Refunds and Exchanges

  • WTM tickets are non-refundable, but may be exchanged for a small charge, but not on the day of, or after, the event. Exclusions apply.

  • Tickets must be returned to the Box Office for an exchange.

Restrictions on the purchase of tickets

  • Tickets may be restricted to a maximum number per customer. Any such restriction shall be notified to you at the time you book the Tickets. We reserve the right to cancel

  • Tickets purchased over this number and without the agent’s agreement, without prior notice, unless the purchase of an excess was due to our error.

  • Ticket prices may vary from one performance to another and location to another.

  • Concession discounts are available for some shows/screenings.

  • Child tickets are valid for children aged 2-14 years.

  • Senior tickets are valid for adults aged over 60 years.

  • Student tickets are valid for anyone with a valid student ID.

  • Discounts are subject to availability and are at the discretion of the Box Office. Discounts apply to full price tickets only, with a maximum of one discount per ticket.

  • Please note that some seating areas may not be available at all shows or screenings.

  • Tickets purchased from Third Parties for events in WTM venues

  • Tickets purchased from WTM for the third-party event.

Void tickets

  • Any Ticket obtained in breach of these Terms and Conditions shall be void and all, rights conferred or evidenced by such Ticket shall be void. any person seeking to use such a void Ticket in order to gain or provide entry to an event may be considered to be a trespasser and may be liable to be ejected and liable to legal action. Void Tickets are non-refundable.

Children/Under 18s

  • Children over the age of 2 must have a ticket purchased for them.

  • Babies/children under the age of 2 are permitted free of charge, only for shows specifically aimed at that age group. They must sit on a parent/guardians lap.

  • We encourage where possible to leave pushchairs/prams at home, we have limited space to store these, please speak to a staff member on arrival who will show you where to leave your pushchair/pram which is usually located at the back of the auditorium.

  • Pushchairs are left at the customer’s own risk and WTM accepts no responsibility.

  • Films: Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult (over the age of 18) at all times. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult after 5pm.

  • Live shows: Shows that have age restrictions must be obeyed, children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (over the age of 18) at all times, no matter what show.

  • Supervising adults or parents/guardians are responsible for the safety and behaviour of children at all times during their visit and groups must not exceed the ratio of 1 adult to 10 children.

  • WTM reserves the right to ask parents /guardians to remove children if, in the opinion of the staff, they are causing a disturbance.

  • WTM will refuse admission to a film to anyone who is under the minimum age required by the BBFC classification or who cannot provide a valid ID. regardless of parental accompaniment.

  • WTM will refuse admission to an event to anyone who is under the minimum age required where an age restriction applies as specified by the event promoter. If requested, anyone who cannot provide ID will also be refused entry.

  • It is the customer’s responsibility to assess the suitability of an event for children where no official age restriction applies.

Access

  • Guide, hearing and other assistance dogs are welcome in our venues, any other animal is not permitted. Please inform us ahead of your visit so we can safely accommodate your dog.

  • Visitors are responsible for selecting a suitable seat that meets their requirements or consult with a member of staff before purchasing a seat if they have any additional needs.

  • Wheelchair user spaces are bookable via our box office. Please inform us prior to your visit so we can accommodate you safely.

  • Customers transferring from a wheelchair to a seat are only permitted to do so if the customer is able to exit the building in the event of an evacuation without needing to return to their wheelchair first.

  • Anyone transferring from a wheelchair to a seat must do so on their own accord or with a companion’s assistance. Staff are not permitted to bear any weight or provide any physical assistance.

  • All audience members must be physically able to evacuate themselves from the building in an emergency or inform a staff member prior to their visit if they require assistance to do so.
