When the world goes mad, do we inevitably go mad too?

When rioters overrun government buildings in the USA and Brazil, Shôn’s 83 year old mother becomes unnerved - so he goes back home to the Isle of Anglesey to visit her.

After a trip to the local supermarket, in the spirit of fun, Shôn cracks an egg on her forehead. A neighbour witnessing this egg-cracking tells people in town what he’s seen. Not everyone feels comfortable with a grown-up son cracking an egg on his elderly mother’s forehead.

Cracking is a funny and absurd new play by “the great Welsh storyteller” (Lyn Gardner) about polarised perspectives, lying like you’re telling the truth and how stories can help us get in and out of trouble.

Shôn’s previous work includes Floating, Story Of A Rabbit and The Duke; he is also known as Hugh Huges: The Emerging Artist From Wales.

Winner of BBC Audio Drama Award, Best Scripted Comedy
