  • Description

As part of a series of talks about remarkable women of the twentieth century.

Today, women in Britain take the right to vote for granted but who do we have to thank for it? Would you like to know more about the woman who fought for that right?

Emmeline Pankhurst came from a politically active family and became involved in women’s suffrage in the late 19th century and when as a woman she was refused to join a party, she simply founded her own, the Women’s Social & Political Party. She changed women’s lives forever and we will look at who she was as a person, how she led her sometimes bitter battles, and how her legacy was carried on.
