A couple travels to Northern Europe to visit a rural hometown's fabled Swedish mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.
Our thoughts
This film really packs a punch! A visionary original horror that is upsetting, unnerving and unsettling. Florence Pugh gives an Oscar-worthy performance and the soundtrack is a one-of-a-kind. One of the best films of the last ten years, I think this is a film we'll be talking about in decades to come as a true classic.
★★★★★ A visceral, unique, utterly fked-up experience that demands to be seen on the big screen Empire
★★★★★ A crescendo of paranoid trippiness building to an uproarious grossout The Guardian
★★★★★ A savage yet evolved slice of Swedish folk-horror Time Out
