About Rainbow Shakespeare: Macbeth

Live open-air performances in a truly magical setting

What could be more magical – or more quintessentially English – than watching an exciting, entertaining and easy-to-follow Shakespeare play beneath the open skies, picnic in hand?

That’s exactly what Rainbow Shakespeare has been delivering to delighted audiences for over 26 years. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Highdown Gardens, these open-air shows feature a vibrant mix of professional actors and community performers, creating a warm, inclusive and utterly unforgettable atmosphere.

"I am in blood stepped in so far, that, should I wade no more, Returning were as tedious as go o’er."

A chilling tale of ambition, power and madness. When a prophecy reveals Macbeth’s rise to the throne, he and Lady Macbeth take deadly action to seize power – but the cost is far greater than they imagined.

Expect witches, ghosts, gripping drama and powerful performances in this intense Shakespearean thriller.
