Akira Kurosawa
Toshirô Mifune, Masayuki Mori
Coinciding with a major retrospective of his work at the BFI, we are celebrating the career of Akira Kurosawa. Arguably Japan's finest director and one of the most influential film-makers of all-time. We are delighted to be able to present some of his work on the big screen as intended.
About the film
A priest, a woodcutter and another man are taking refuge from a rainstorm in the shell of a former gatehouse called Rashômon. They recount a crime from multiple different viewpoints in order to discover the truth and who perpetrated the crime.
