Grab your dancing shoes as the beloved Tea Dance returns to the Assembly Hall!

The Hall boasts a large and very fine-sprung dance floor that was installed only four years ago. Combined with the spectacular sounds of the Wurlitzer organ, the event promises a magic afternoon of dancing to the sound of the Wurlitzer organ.

About Cameron
Cameron was born in 1980 and became interested in playing the organ at the age of 11 when his parents bought him a Wurlitzer electronic organ. He decided that he would teach himself to play and so has never had any lessons! After a visit to the Tower Ballroom Blackpool at the age of 12, he really became hooked on the theatre organ.

A visit to the Buttermarket in Shrewsbury to see Robert Wolfe at the Wurlitzer in 1995 really started things going and Cameron was given time on the Wurlitzer before concerts.
Cameron played at the Civic Hall Wolverhampton as Assistant Organist for dancing as well as other occasions such as the Ken Dodd show (five years) and with Todd Miller and the Joe Loss Orchestra (four years) from 2001 until 2016.

The majority of his time nowadays is spent travelling around the country playing for Ballroom and Sequence dancing using his trusty Yamaha D Deck. Cameron says that there is plenty of work out there for the dance organist and he now plays full time. He has played for the Association of Teachers of Dancing on several occasions for their Sequence Ball.

Since late 2007, Cameron has been on the team of volunteers from the Cannock Chase Organ Club who look after the Blackpool Opera House Wurlitzer and who have installed an organ back into the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool. He is a board member of the Blackpool Winter Gardens Trust. During the same period, he has been organist at Bilston Town Hall since 2008 playing the Compton organ there weekly.
