Come and learn the basics of paper quilling in this introductory class. Stephanie will show you how to produce a range of shapes which you will then apply to produce a beautiful two-dimensional design.
Paper quilling was a popular pastime in the Regency period when it was used to produce pictures or even to decorate the surfaces of three-dimensional objects including pieces of furniture.
Stephanie first learnt paper quilling when she was 13. Returning to it as an adult she has adapted the technique to stunning effect, applying it both as a means of surface decoration and decorative structure, in her work as a fine artist producing garments from paper and thread.
Stephanie’s exhibition, The Regency Wardrobe, will be on display at Worthing Museum and Gallery from Saturday 5 March to Sunday 19 June 2022.
