Discover the wealth of wildlife beneath the local sea being protected off Worthing in Kingmere Marine Conservation Zone and vital community contribution to important research to protect a local super-dad, the black seabream. Interviews with local fishermen and sea anglers will show sea-going perspective on Kingmere Marine Conservation Zone.
Plus, an introduction to a brand-new fish tagging programme at Kingmere. There will also be presentation on a project working to improve the local sea; the first ever sea kelp initiative in the South East called Sussex Kelp Restoration Project, which plans to restore recently lost underwater kelp forest. A vital fish habitat, kelp reduces wave erosion and captures carbon. Throughout the talk there will be plenty of local underwater and community footage and an opportunity to ask questions at the end.
