About Jo Fooks

Award-winning saxophonist Jo Fooks studied at the Guildhall School of Music before securing a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston. She has performed at leading venues across the UK and Europe and is best known for her work with the legendary Humphrey Lyttelton Band. Jo’s playing has been praised for its elegance, melodic warmth and rhythmic vitality.

Her influences include jazz greats such as Illinois Jacquet, Sonny Rollins and Dexter Gordon, yet her sound is unmistakably hers. From upbeat swing to tender ballads, Jo’s performances are full of character, creativity and charm.
