Leave a Legacy for Worthing’s Future
Support and Join UsOne Hundred Years Ago, One Gift Changed Worthing Forever
When visitors walk through the Pavilion Atrium, attend a concert in the Assembly Hall, or enjoy the cultural life of Worthing today, many don’t realise they are experiencing the lasting impact of one remarkable act of generosity.
James Gurney Denton, four-time Mayor of Worthing, believed deeply in the future of his town.
In 1922, he gifted Denton Gardens to the people of Worthing. In 1933, he donated the equivalent of 3 million pounds to create the Assembly Hall. Following his death, a further gift from his estate helped create what is now the Pavilion Atrium.
Nearly a century later, his generosity continues to shape the cultural life of our community.
Today, Worthing Theatres & Museum invites supporters to join that same tradition of generosity.
A Lasting Gift for Future Generations
A gift in your Will can help ensure that theatre, art, culture and heritage continue to inspire people across Worthing for years to come.
After providing for family and loved ones, many people choose to leave a charitable gift so that something they care about deeply can continue making a difference.
For some, that means helping children discover creativity for the first time. For others, it means preserving local heritage, supporting artists and performers, or ensuring future generations can enjoy the same cultural experiences that have enriched their own lives.
Whatever your reason, your gift can help shape Worthing’s cultural future.
Why Leave a Gift to Worthing Theatres & Museum?

Every year we bring people together through theatre, exhibitions, live music, learning programmes and cultural events. We care for important local collections, celebrate creativity and create opportunities for people of all ages to engage with arts and heritage.
