About Worthing Symphony Orchestra: True Love

One of the most enduring love stories of all time is Shakespeare’s play Romeo & Juliet, which has inspired many pieces of music, including Tchaikovsky’s hugely popular Fantasy-Overture Romeo & Juliet. Prokofiev’s great ballet Romeo & Juliet most famous movement is Montagues & Capulets. It is used as the theme for BBC’s The Apprentice.

Prokofiev’sSecond Piano Concerto is a powerful, romantic work bristling with piano pyrotechnics.

The tale of true love continues in Howl's Moving Castle - an epic tale of adventure and imagination by the Welsh author Diana Wyne Jone brought to life in animation by the Oscar-winning director Hayao Miyazaki with music by Joe Hisaishi. The concert will end with John Williams’ theme from the 1982 film E.T.
