About WPO: Braimah Kanneh-Mason Plays Mendelssohn

The outstanding young soloist, Braimah Kanneh-Mason, joins WPO for a performance of Mendelssohn’s evergreen Violin Concerto. Members of the superb Kanneh-Mason family are no strangers to Worthing audiences, and this promises to be a real highlight of the WPO’s concert season.

The programme concludes with Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, a visionary work on an epic scale, depicting an artist’s opium-induced visions of obsessive love, ranging from tender longing to a nightmarish witches' sabbath. With its bold orchestration and striking originality, it revolutionised Romantic music through its vivid storytelling and emotional intensity.

Rossini’s overture to La Gazza Ladra (The Thieving Magpie), opens the programme.

Programme:

Rossini: Overture to ‘La Gazza Ladra’ (The Thieving Magpie)

Mendelssohn: Violin Concerto

Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique

As part of their members' benefits, WTM Members and Patrons will not pay a Transaction Fee. This will automatically be applied when you log into your online account.
