Opposite Peter Cushing's fearless Van Helsing, Lee brought a terrifying physicality and seductive menace to the role that would redefine the Count for generations. This landmark 4K restoration from original film elements reinstates footage that was believed missing for more than six decades and was previously seen only by audiences attending the film’s original Japanese theatrical release in 1958. The recovered material has never been released before in the UK or US. It’s the cut the censors tried to bury.
When Jonathan Harker arrives at a remote Transylvanian castle, he discovers that his mysterious host, Count Dracula, is a centuries-old vampire who feeds upon the blood of the living.
