Worthing Museum & Art Gallery
Reopening from Saturday 28 March 2026Worthing Museum preserves the stories of everyday lives and makes them part of our shared future.
Our museum cares for a nationally significant collection of the clothes people wore and made, celebrating the creativity stitched into everyday life. Together with artworks, artefacts and objects rooted in Sussex history, these collections reveal the extraordinary within our ordinary lives and the towns we call home.
Over the past year, our team has been carefully preparing the museum for its next chapter. Alongside the installation of the Worthing Heat Network – helping secure a more sustainable future for the building – staff have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to protect and move hundreds of collection items, ensuring their safety throughout the process.
This period of change has been an opportunity to rethink and modernise the museum while staying true to the stories that define it.
There is still more to come, but we are incredibly excited to welcome you back.
This is your museum and its next chapter starts now.
From 28 March, the Museum will initially be open three days a week while our team completes the redisplay of our collection.
Opening hours (from 28 March)
- Thursday: 10 am - 8 pm
- Friday 10 am - 5 pm
- Saturday 10 am - 5pm
This phased reopening allows our curators the time needed to carefully refresh the galleries and ensure the high-quality experience our visitors expect.
We plan to expand our opening days over time, with Wednesday openings returning from July 2026, and Sunday openings resuming once the redisplay is complete and staffing is in place.
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to improve the Museum.
