About Stone Age Weekender - Flint Knapping

Enjoy a two-day festival of Flint with WTM's Stone Age Weekend!

You'll knap your own tools in a practical workshop and learn more about Stone Age Sussex with exclusive access to objects in the collection, specialist talks and a walk.

Day One: Practical flint knapping and exclusive object handling of Stone Age items from the museum collection at the museum.

Day Two: Join museum archaeologist, James Sainsbury, on a special guided walk on the Worthing Downs to learn more about the unique Sussex landscape and its special flint mines.

Join experimental archaeologist, Dr James Dilley and Worthing Museum Curator, James Sainsbury, for a weekend devoted to fabulous flint! Knapp your own Stone Age tools, get close up with some highlights from our archaeology collection and enjoy a curator-led walk exploring one of our unique local flint mines. 

All materials, tea, and coffee are provided, but you will need to bring your lunch.
