Up-Cycled Fashion With Kate Strachan

This course is for lovers of up-cycled/pre-loved clothing and supporters of the ‘re-use and mend' culture. 

Suitable for beginners or occasional sewers, it will help students design and plan their sewing project, provide tuition in basic machine and hand sewing techniques, support with reconstructing and adapting existing garments, and provide ideas for decorative repairs and embellishments.

Students bring garments* for restyling, repurposing, resizing or repairs....use fabric from 1 garment to make another, eg, turn old trousers into a beach bag, or adapt/ re-size a favourite old garment or a charity shop find. 

*Note - not suitable for knitwear. 

Max 8 students

4 x 2-hour sessions - students must attend all 4 sessions of the course; this is not a drop-in workshop.
