The Creative Director behind Fuel and Creative Crawley joins Worthing Theatres & Museum in January, full-time from April 2027.
We're thrilled to share that Louise Blackwell will be the new Chief Executive of Worthing Theatres & Museum, leading the Connaught Theatre, Pavilion Theatre, Assembly Hall and Worthing Museum & Art Gallery.
Louise has spent more than 25 years making brilliant things happen in the arts. She co-founded Fuel, one of the UK's most adventurous producing companies, creating new performances and touring them around the UK and the world. More recently, just up the road, she founded Creative Crawley, filling the town with festivals, performances and public art made with and for local people.
She's worked everywhere from Sadler's Wells to a shopping parade in Crawley, and believes the best ideas are the ones that reach everyone.
“My aim is simple: that everyone in the town feels these buildings belong to them and through the extraordinary work we do together, we will raise the profile of this wonderful town”: Louise Blackwell
Our Chair, James Turnbull, said: "I’m delighted we’ve attracted someone with Louise’s brilliant talent and vision to Worthing Theatres & Museum. Her combination of creative ambition, practical experience and belief in culture’s potential makes her the right person to lead our charity into its next chapter, growing our reach and securing a strong, sustainable future."
Keep an eye on our socials and newsletter to hear more from Louise in the coming months.
