News Story
Michael Auger shot to fame in 2014 as part of the male vocalist group Collabro, who won that year’s season of Britain’s Got Talent. In the last 10 years, he has performed on some of the country’s biggest stages and toured internationally. He’s also taken to the stage closer to home, with his starring role in Sleeping Beauty: the Pantomime, right here in Worthing last year. Now he’s back for An Evening with Michael Auger, a special, intimate night of songs and stories to share with local fans. We caught up with Michael to find out more.
How are you feeling about your upcoming show in Worthing?
I am so looking forward to performing in Worthing, especially in the summer so I can really enjoy walking down the pier. I performed in pantomime in December so the weather was questionable. It will be great to see some familiar faces and some new ones too, oh yes it will!
What can audiences expect from An Evening with Michael Auger – without giving too much away?
Audiences can expect songs from multiple genres, mainly musical theatre, mixed with stories from my 10 years in the industry since winning Britain’s Got Talent with Collabro. I will have you laughing, maybe even crying and definitely dancing at the end!

Does anything change each time you perform?
EVERY show I do is different. A new set list means my show is fresh and unique and of course every audience makes the show what it can be, so make sure you come and be part of it.
Fans can buy ‘Meet and Greet’ tickets for the show. Have you had any memorable audience interactions so far?
I love meeting the audience in ‘Meet and Greet’ – it might even be my favourite part of the day. Answering questions and interacting on a personal level with people who love music and hearing what they want from the show is very special! AND of course we get to have a photo too!
How do you prepare for performances?
I spend real time preparing the set list and rehearsing the songs as they have to be right and the show has to flow. On the day itself I try not to sing too much so I’m not blown out for the main performance but I normally can’t help myself.

What song are you most excited to share with your fans?
Ahhh I can’t give too much away but I will be doing a Les Mis ‘medley’ and even a Disney section too that I’m looking forward to.
Do you have a favourite singer, or group whose work you admire most?
I recently learned that Celine Dion’s demo of My Heart Will Go On was actually used in the film Titanic. I’ve always admired her voice, but knowing that was one take is insane!

What has been your favourite career highlight so far?
Performing at the O2 arena in London three nights in a row as special guests on the Barry Manilow tour in 2018 was something I’ll never forget.
You were here with us in Worthing, starring in last year’s Sleeping Beauty: The Pantomime. Will you be taking to the stage for another panto this festive season?
OH NO I WASN’T!
Yes I played the ‘hero’ and it was so much fun. I have actually got plans for pantomime this year but it hasn’t been announced yet so watch this space.
