This incredible hoard of 50 gold and silver coins, 2 gold rings and a Roman-pound (approximately 329g) of hack silver, was discovered near Patching village in 1997 by two metal detectorists. It’s one of the last Roman coin hoards to be found in Britain.

As a Patching Hoard donor we’d love to invite you to a tour of the archaeology gallery ahead of reopening, and an exclusive handling session with the Patching Hoard, led by our Archaeology Curator James Sainsbury.
