About Summer Walks 2026 - Highdown Hill

Join Worthing Museum archaeologist James Sainsbury for an evening walk exploring the archaeology, history and landscape of Highdown Hill.

One of Sussex's most important archaeological sites, Highdown Hill offers spectacular views alongside a rich history stretching back thousands of years. Discover the stories hidden within the landscape as James guides you through this remarkable location, revealing evidence of ancient settlements, burial sites and the people who once lived here.

This guided walk is part of our Summer Archaeology Walk Programme and is suitable for anyone with an interest in local history, archaeology and the Sussex landscape.

Please note: All walks include some climbs and descents. Dogs are welcome on a lead. Please wear sensible footwear and bring a drink and snack.
