About Summer Walks 2026 - Kithurst Hill

Join archaeologist James Sainsbury for an evening walk along the crest of the South Downs, exploring a landscape rich in archaeological treasures and stunning countryside views.

This fascinating route passes through a remarkable concentration of historic sites spanning thousands of years. Discover evidence of Stone Age communities, Bronze Age burial mounds and Roman farming settlements as James reveals the stories hidden within the landscape. Along the way, you'll gain a deeper understanding of how generations of people have lived, worked and travelled across these chalk downs.
