On an oppressively hot set in the middle of the Texan desert the filming of the Hollywood epic, Giant begins. A love affair, fuelled by insomnia, alcohol and jealousy, tragically cut short by the untimely death of James Dean. 

Using the language of 1950s cinema, you’ll see the action both on and off camera. An uncomfortably intimate and dysfunctional triangle of love, sex and narcissism. 

A story about the relationship between reality and construct.  A dramatisation of this real-life moment when modern celebrity and its intoxicating promise of reinvention were born.  

Constructed images, fragile egos and the tragic death of a young star combine in a cautionary tale about the seductive power of fame.
