We are thrilled to announce that WTM’s Pavilion Theatre has received a grant from the Theatres Trust Small Grants Programme, supported by The Linbury Trust.
What is the Theatres Trust?
The Theatres Trust was set up by the Government through an Act of Parliament in 1976. It works to promote the better protection of theatres for the benefit of the nation. It is the national advice and advocacy body for the UK’s theatres. The Theatres Trust support all forms of theatres, whether old or new, commercial, subsidised or community-run. They protect theatres and champion the future of live performance. By offering advice and supporting theatres across the nation, they help develop best practices in design and management. Their four areas of support cover resilience, environmental sustainability, inclusivity, and placemaking.

About the Grant
Theatres Trust Small Grants Programme supported by The Linbury Trust provides grants of up to £5,000. These grants can be for essential works to enable not-for-profit theatres across the UK to be viable and thrive in the future. Eligible projects include small capital works, the installation of key plant and machinery and works which make theatre buildings digital-ready. This scheme prioritises improvements to buildings that protect theatre use and remove barriers to participation and attendance.
Our grant will enable us to replace 15 taps in the public and backstage areas of the Pavilion. Our beloved theatre on the pier first opened in 1926. A long life on the beach, providing fantastic live performances all year round, has meant certain facilities are in need of a bit of TLC. As an independent charity, WTM relies on grants like these to help modernise our facilities. The taps will be replaced with state-of-the-art sensor taps. This will reduce water consumption, limit water wastage and improve the accessibility of the facilities.
