About Summer Walks 2026 - Arundel Park

Join Worthing Museum archaeologist James Sainsbury for a fascinating guided walk through the historic landscape of Arundel Park.

Created in the early Norman period by the Earls of Arundel, the park remains one of the most archaeologically rich landscapes in Sussex. The absence of later settlement and intensive agriculture has helped preserve a wealth of historic features, including an important settlement dating from the transition between the Iron Age and Roman periods.

As you explore this remarkable landscape, James will reveal the stories hidden within the park’s hills, valleys and earthworks, uncovering evidence of centuries of human activity and change.

Part of our Summer Archaeology Walk Programme, this walk is ideal for anyone interested in archaeology, local history and the Sussex countryside.
