Discover the creative possibilities of botanical illustration in this relaxed, hands-on workshop focused on making and painting with homemade plant-based inks.

Using natural materials, you will learn how to create your own inks and build a personalised colour swatch card to reference the unique tones found in plants. Drawing inspiration from museum objects and garden foliage, this workshop encourages free, expressive mark-making in a supportive and creative environment.

The session begins with guided warm-up exercises to help you find your creative flow, followed by time to experiment with colour, texture and composition. Whether you bring your own sketchbook or start something new, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your own botanical artwork. Additional paper will be provided.

You will also receive a simple botanical ink recipe to take home, allowing you to continue exploring natural colour-making beyond the workshop.
